The new product registration database is expected to be available in February 2024.
Registrants can use the current system to register and renew product registrations for the 2023-24 renewal period.
We remain committed to delivering the new system and will keep you updated on our progress.
This upgrade is part of our effort to strengthen and improve the administration of the WELS scheme and is one of the priorities in the WELS Strategic Plan 2022-25.
Benefits
- improve user experience when applying for product registrations
- automate the validation of WaterMark certification for plumbing product registration and renewal
- use up to date ICT platforms that will improve data security
- streamline registration renewal and model editing processes
- make it easier for the public to search the product database
- shorten assessment timeframes
- support industry to get product to market sooner.
Timeline
We will support businesses through the transition to the new system by providing further information and training.
Industry and other users will have the opportunity to test the system and provide their feedback before it is released. It is anticipated that user acceptance testing will run in November 2023.
We expect to rollout the new system in February 2024.
We expect that the current system will be unavailable for approximately 4 weeks before the rollout of the new system. The project team will migrate the data from the current system to the new system during this time.
Training resources
We will develop training materials to support registrants to move to a new system and will take you through this during our online training sessions.
Recordings of these sessions will be made available on this page.
